Book a 20-minute review

Services  /  CFO & Controller

The analysis a controller would do, without a controller's salary.

For operators who have outgrown bookkeeping but cannot justify a full-time finance hire: budgeting, forecasting, covenant tracking, unit economics and a senior person on a scheduled call every month.

Scope

What is included

Scannable first. The detail is one click down, for whoever needs it.

Budgeting and forecasting

An annual operating budget built bottom-up from unit history, revised quarterly against actuals. Rolling forecasts for revenue, prime cost, labour and fixed overhead, with the assumptions written down rather than buried in a formula.

Cash flow and covenant tracking

Thirteen-week rolling cash projection updated weekly. Where debt is in place, covenant ratios calculated each period with early warning before a test date rather than after it.

Unit economics and benchmarking

Four-wall contribution by location, cost lines compared across units and against comparable operations, and a written explanation for outliers.

Monthly review call

A scheduled call with a senior member of the team — not a report thrown over a wall. Variance commentary is prepared in advance so the call is about decisions.

Lender and investor reporting

Reporting packages formatted for the audience that will read them, plus support during financing conversations and audit or review engagements.

Capital planning

Modelling for new units, refurbishments and equipment — the cash requirement, the ramp and the payback, built from your own history rather than an industry average.

Fit

Who this is and is not for

A good fit

  • Operators past the point where the owner can hold the numbers in their head
  • Groups adding units, where per-unit economics now drive the decisions
  • Businesses with debt, investors or a franchisor to report to
  • Owners who want to stop building the analysis themselves

Not a fit

  • Pre-opening businesses with no trading history yet — start with bookkeeping
  • Operators looking only for a tax return once a year
  • Anyone who needs someone physically on site daily

How pricing works

A fixed monthly fee, quoted after scoping. It is driven by entity and location count, transaction volume, which functions we run, whether payroll is included, and the state of your current books. No hourly billing, and the number is agreed before any work starts.

Historical cleanup, if your prior records need it, is scoped and quoted separately from the ongoing fee — so you decide how far back to go rather than being billed into it.
